Before I tell you what my approach is in wedding photography, I would like to let you know who I am. I am not afraid to tell you about my personal life. I want to be your friend rather than just be your photographer. Because I believe that being comfortable with me and trusting me in front of my camera are the keys to make good images.
Who am I?
I am Kong Wai (江威). I live in Hong Kong with my family and my beautiful wife. Here are a few our pre-wedding photos. (More blog posts about us.)

Images and music have always been a part of my life. I started photo shooting with film when I was a little boy. I grew up in church, I have grown to love people around me and began to learn guitar-playing when I was 10 from my pastor. I formed my first band and received grade 8 in drums when I was in High school. After that I gradated from Visual Communication in BA Hons Degree, majoring in Design and Photography. I have been constantly pursuing ways to be creative. I still connect with music. I am the vocalist / guitarist / songwriter for my band. We play gigs in many Asian countries.

How I see Wedding photography?
“Just be yourself” – I believe weddings are love stories. I have my own story. I think you have one too, which is unique and attractive. No matter it is a wedding day or pre-wedding photo shooting, my goal is never create contrived poses but capture the real emotion instead.
Wedding day
For me, each couple have their own story. As you see on my site, I would like to show a series of quality photos describing a complete story rather than posting a few good images. I would like to be your friend to participate in your wedding and record the whole wedding by my observation.
I work as a witness, discreetly documenting the wedding without people’s awareness of the camera. Just forget me and enjoy your wedding. You can get the images like below – natural and real

Engagement session / Pre-wedding
Capturing the relaxing moment of the couple is a master of art. Yes, I do give direction to my couple some of the time, but only some pose suggestions. After that they take the free rein to talk, kiss, laugh or do whatever they like. I simply tell them where to go or stand and then let them feel at ease at the camera. Real emotion or unnoticed expression will easily come out from this atmosphere.
